When Ken Paxton had the chance…….

hen Texas State Representative Ken Paxton had a chance to represent the people, he chose instead to further his career.

Watch the video linked below and I believe you will understand.

The goals were clearly defined.

Vote Ken Paxton for Speaker of the House or your seat.

Take it to the Floor! For more info go to House of Straus

For those unfamiliar with the issue, the vote for Speaker of the House, the first and most consequential vote of each session, was for 35 years legally off-limits to anyone but lobbyists and legislators. During that time it was illegal for the rest of us to involve ourselves. The Texas Supreme Court ruled the law unconstitutional as a result of a legal challenge a couple of years ago, opening up the speaker’s race for the first time in 35 years.

Why is the Speaker of the House race so important.

“The speaker race is about policy – more so than any other vote – because the speaker chooses committee chairs and committee chairs determine which bills get to the floor and which do not. It goes without saying that the speaker and his team have a large influence on whether a bill passes or not, but more importantly, the speaker and his team entirely decide which votes happen. There is no more consequential way to affect policy in the legislature than this. The speaker race is not about personality.”

Below are some of the comments made leading up to the Texas Speaker Showdown I.

“Texas State Reps who support Straus will know that we will be there and either way the vote goes we are networking and planning to primary them depending on their vote. Do they want to be on the list that is a target after the vote. That is their choice.”
This is the most important piece of information that should be hand delivered to the reps. Information on Straus and other speaker candidates is probably futile.

Politicians respond to only “pleasure” and “pain.” Pleasure is money, votes, and favorable publicity. Pain is unfavorable publicity and money and votes for their primary challenger. Until conservatives/libertarians understand this, they’ll never change the Republican Party. We have to be able to deal out more pleasure and pain than Straus and establishment Republicans.” ~ Tony Listi

Has Ken Paxton felt “Pleasure or Pain” following the Speaker Show down with Joe Straus.

Perception is everything. The perception is that in the end Ken Paxton used the speaker showdown as a launch pad both financially to the tune of $800,000 along with some powerful name resignation.  “Pleasure”

What did he do with that, he ran for the Texas Senate and won. “Pleasure”

Next he accumulated much more money and a network of undying support from a conservative coalition of elected officials and is now running to be the Attorney General of the State of Texas. “Pleasure”

The ability to politically identify with Senator Ted Cruz and to ride the Texas Conservative Wave. “Pleasure”

Do I think Ken Paxton is a Social Conservative. YES! Do I think that Ken Paxton is a career politician YES!

My question is….

What has Ken Paxton done to represent the best interest of the people of Texas to deserve their vote for Attorney General? All I hear is that he has a great conservative voting record.

What I see is Politics as usual.

Starting with the endorsement of Supreme Court Judge David Medina over True Conservative John Devine.

It just so happens that I know a lot about that race because I was working to get the truth out about Judge David Medina who had been charged with tampering with evidence and his wife charged with arson. Here is the information I was apart of helping get out across the state of Texas. Runaway Grand Jury or Runaway Justice

Thankfully, we had an excellent candidate running against David Medina—John Devine, who is now a Texas Supreme Court Justice. In that race, the people emerged victorious despite Medina receiving endorsements from prominent figures like Rick Perry and Ken Paxton. Some of us refused to simply “go along to get along” because it was the easier path. Instead, we chose to stand up for what was right. That race also revealed Ken Paxton’s willingness to prioritize political convenience over principle.

When Ken Paxton had the opportunity to stand up for Texas children’s education, he chose to align with the Ratliff Clan and Wendy Davis as they worked to fundamentally transform Texas education. Their efforts appear to be nothing more than a rebranded version of the Common Core philosophy of education.

Did you know that Sen. Ken Paxton was the Primary sponsor of HB2824 on the Senate side? Sen. Dan Branch was a Co-Sponsor.

As reported by Red Hot Conservative back in July on HB 2824. What was HB2824 all about?

The Next Generation of Learning Standards in Texas. i.e. College and Career Ready/Common Core philosophy of education.

Click on the above  release and you will read in the News Release from TASB stating their agenda to pursue their liberal agenda despite Gov Perry’s Veto of HB 2824 which was sponsored by “Bennet Ratliff”, whose brother Thomas Ratliff serves on the State Board of Education illegally.”

“HB 2824 would have provided space and flexibility to the 23 school districts participating in the Consortium to carry out the research and development necessary to accomplish the goals initially outlined in Senate Bill 1557 to transform public education.”

Ratliff and PaxtonParents what do you think about your kids being used for research and development? As a Texas Parent and Tax Payer I do not want my tax dollars used for research and development using Texas children and their teachers.

Thankfully Gov. Rick Perry did Veto HB2824 which was passed by the House and the Senate overwhelmingly.”

Interesting to note, I found out in listening to the education committee hearings on May 17  Ken Paxton was the only one of the education committee members who was absent the day it was moved out of the committee.

It is also worth noting that, on May 16th, as you’ll hear in the audio below, someone else had to present Ken Paxton’s bill to the Education Committee in his absence. Once again, it seems Paxton was outmaneuvered by the left. It’s unclear what his strategy was or why his team chose to ignore the advice of conservative education experts like Donna Garner, opting instead to side with the education establishment, such as the Ratliffs. This situation clearly highlights that Paxton is not the right choice for Attorney General in Texas. We repeatedly discussed these bills during the Women on the Wall conference calls, yet no one from Paxton’s team took the time to listen. However, they still expect our unquestioning support.

Did you notice what Sen. Wendy Davis stated as she presented Sen. Ken Paxton’s bill. HB2824. “Next Generation Learning Standards”  They are basically going around the Texas TEKS to implement Common Core/College and Career Ready Standards. One only has to read the talking points from Klien ISD and Coppell ISD to understand there’re plan is implementing new standards to accomplish a Transformation of Texas Education.

~Texas parents of 8th grade Public School students, have you gotten the letter about meeting with the counselor to discuss your child’s college and career ready pathway yet?

Well I highly recommend that you read the article HB 5 AND THE PATH TO COMMON CORE. I will help you understand what HB5 did.

HB5 was signed prior to HB462 that supposedly said NO to Common Core. Also I recommend you consider when you go in to vote in the primary who was behind HB5.

Isn’t it interesting that Governor Candidate Wendy Davis is a big supporter of HB5 along with folks like Senator Dan Patrick the sponsor of HB5 in the Senate and Senator Ken Paxton and Senator Dan Branch who are running for Attorney General.

That is not very comforting to me as a Mom. I will not vote for any of them.

Who will I vote for? As we did in the Supreme Court Race referenced above we do have a strong Conservative running against both Ken Paxton and Dan Branch. His name is Barry Smitherman.

I will proudly “Stand” for Barry Smitherman for Attorney General of Texas.
